  • Profile information — for guides, your photo, short bio, country and city, languages you speak, the type of exchange you offer, and the dates you're available.
  • Activity on the Platform — booking requests you send or receive, reviews you write or receive, and reports you submit.
  • Technical data — basic information your browser sends automatically (such as device, approximate location, and usage data) used to keep the service working and secure.

How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account, including verifying your email address.
  • To connect guides and travelers and handle booking requests.
  • To send service emails — verification, requests, confirmations, reminders, and important updates.
  • To operate reviews, reporting, and safety features, and to keep the Platform secure.

Information that is public

Once a guide's profile is complete, it is publicly visible in Explore — including name, photo, location, languages, and what they offer. Reviews and ratings are also visible to other users. Please share only what you're comfortable making public.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as follows:

  • Between users: when a booking is confirmed, the guide and traveler are shown each other's contact email so they can arrange to meet.
  • Service providers: we use trusted third parties to run the Platform — for example, our email is delivered through Resend, and our hosting is provided by Hostinger. They process data only to provide their service to us.
  • Legal reasons: where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Platform.

Email verification

We require you to confirm your email address before you can log in. This helps keep accounts genuine and reduces fake or fraudulent profiles.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by emailing us. Some limited records (for example, relating to reports or safety) may be retained where necessary to protect the community or comply with law.
